House Rules
Welcome to Maison by the Sea
We are happy to host you and hope you enjoy your stay. We love our home and want you to enjoy it. Before getting into the fun details, we have some ground to cover in our house rules. While we want you to get comfortable and feel at home here, we expect you to take care of the space:
– Please clean up and leave the home as you found it. PLEASE DO NOT MOVE THE FURNITURE AND RETURN ALL GAMES AND ACCESSORIES TO THEIR ORIGINAL LOCATION.
– Feel free to stock the fridge and pantry during your stay, but PLEASE TAKE EVERYTHING WITH YOU UPON CHECK OUT OR THROW IT AWAY
– This property is equipped with an elevator. PLEASE LIMIT ELEVATOR USE TO NECESSITIÉS ONLY. USE IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED FOR ANYONE AGE 18 OR YOUNGER unless supervised by a responsible adult. Any damage incurred will be at the renter’s expense.
– Please shake out any sandy towels or bags before bringing them back inside.
– No additional guests are allowed on the premises not listed upon booking. PARTIES ARE STRICTLY PRÖHIBITED, AND PLEASE BE COURTEOUS OF OUR NEIGHBORS WHEN MAKING NOISE AFTER 10 PM.
– SMOKING OF ANY KIND IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED.
– Guests are responsible for setting out both trash receptacles every Sunday evening
for pickup Monday morning. IF YOU NEGLECT TO DO THIS, YOU MAY BE CHARGED A FEE.
Occupancy
MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY is STRICTLY enforced. Our home is for family vacation only, no sororities, fraternities, prom groups, party etc. Occupancy of 11 Guest (including children’s), misrepresentation or subletting are grounds for immediate eviction and will result in rental termination and the loss of all full paid rents, reservation holder is required to be an adult over the age of 25. For groups of unrelated individuals, defined as groups of individuals that do not reside in the same primary residence, all guests must be over 30.

Check-In
Check-in is at 5:00PM
Before your arrival, you should have received a security code from Yale that gives you access through the front door.
That will be your code throughout your stay. If you encounter any issues, please contact us before troubleshooting with Yale.
Plenty of parking is available in the driveway, but please do not allow your vehicles to block any street.
You can park a maximum of two vehicles in the garage, but do not extend past the line taped on the floor.
ABOUT THE HOME
Game Room
We hope you enjoy the downstairs game room, which is equipped with foosball, air hockey, and ping pong.
While we want you to have fun and enjoy the space, please keep track of our equipment, and treat it as your own. Any damages recorded after your stay will be at the renter’s expense.
Backyard Amenities
The backyard of Maison by the Sea was created with you in mind! Enjoy the relaxing atmosphere in your home away from home. The fire pit and grill are for your use.
Kitchen and Fridge
The kitchen is fully stocked with appliances and cookware, though you will need to visit the grocery store for food supplies–we’ve noted the nearby stores later in this binder. We ask that any food left at the end of your stay go with you or be thrown away.
In-unit washer and dryer
The washer and dryer are for you to use throughout your stay. We’ve supplied detergent for the above cabinet. NOTE: Please shake out any sandy clothing or towels outside before washing them in the machine.
Beach Equipment
Please feel free to utilize the beach equipment located in the garage. However, we would appreciate you taking the time to wash all equipment after each use with the freshwater hose in the backyard or entryway. After washing them off, you can place them back in the garage to dry.
Outdoor Shower
The outdoor shower is accessible under the front steps and beside the side door. Please use it to ensure you are not taking excess sand inside the home. NOTE: The bottom faucet will only work if the shower is on.
Extra Pillows and Blankets
Check the bedroom closets for extra pillows and blankets throughout your stay. You will also find additional sets of sheets should you need a change mid-stay.
Security Cameras
The property is equipped with security cameras that allow us to see the outside of the property. No cameras are indoors, and there are NO cameras inside the home for your privacy.

Check-Out
We are sad to see you go but hope that you enjoyed your stay! Check-out is at 10:00AM is strictly enforced.
-Set the AIR CONDITIONING to 78 DEGREES on ALL THREE THERMOSTATS (upstairs in the dining area, downstairs near the elevator, and in the sunroom).
In WINTER: set the HEAT on indoor thermostats to 62 DEGREES.
– STRIP all USED BEDS of their FITTED SHEETS, TOP SHEETS, and PILLOWCASES. Place all dirty linens on the FLOOR OF THE LAUNDRY ROOM. Mattress covers, quilts, shams, and decorative pillows can remain on the bed, as our cleaning crew will grab those separately.
– Place all DIRTY TOWELS on the FLOOR OF THE LAUNDRY ROOM.
– Ensure all DIRTY DISHES are in the DISHWASHER and START A CYCLE (dish machine soap pods are under the kitchen sink). If any dishes do not fit, please.
RINCE THEM CLEAN of any food particles, cleaned them by hand and put them back in the cabinet.
– Please THROW AWAY all FOOD (left in the pantry, fridge, and freezer) or take it with you.
– Throw all TRASH away and place it in the DARK GREEN TRASH BIN located in the garage.
We RECYCLE at Kure Beach and encourage you to do the same in the green bin with the yellow lid. Please break down all boxes before placing them into the recycling bin.
GARBAGE DAY is every Monday. Guests are REQUIRED to set out BOTH BINS every SUNDAY NIGHT for pickup MONDAY MORNING. Bins are to be placed at the curb near the mailbox.
– Make sure the following are CLOSED and LOCKED: All WINDOWS
– All EXTERIOR DOORS (upper front door, lower side door, back garage door)
– BACK BALCONY DOOR
– FRONT BALCONY SLIDING DOOR
– SUNROOM SLIDING DOOR AND BALCONY DOOR
– All GATES ARE LATCHED
– Both GARAGE DOORS ARE CLOSED
NOTE: Some doors may be difficult to secure, so please push firmly to ensure the deadbolts can latch fully. Door alarms may sound if doors are not properly secured.
ELEVATOR USAGE
The elevator is for handicap use only. No one under the age of 18 is permitted to use the elevator without adult supervision.
Operating Instructions
1. Press the elevator call button. If nothing happens, please check the doors on both levels.
2. Open both doors When the elevator arrives (a click sound).
3. Enter the elevator and securely close both doors behind you.
4. Press the desired floor button.
The elevator will begin to move.
5. Once you’ve arrived on the desired floor, wait for the click before opening both doors.
6. Securely close both doors after your exit. If any door is not properly closed, the elevator will not function.
The elevator weight limit is 950 lbs.
FIRE PIT
Please read the following rules before using the backyard fire pit.
PLEASE
Do not allow flames to exceed the rim of the fire pit.
Do not burn any materials other than
wood in the fire pit.
Cooking is not permitted in the firepit.
Fire pit not allowed during windy conditions.
Any disregarding of these rules, or if excessive cleaning of the fire pit is needed, may result in a fee.
GAME ROOM RULES
We hope you enjoy the game room, located in the carpeted area of the garage. We want you to have fun during your stay, whether at the beach or back at Maison by the Sea.
With that in mind, please take care of our game room so future guests can enjoy the space.
PLEASE.
Do not consume any food or beverages while playing our games.
Do not sit on or lean against any game table.
Do not use game tables if you are wet, as it will cause the tables to warp.
Return all game table accessories to where you found them when finished playing.
Damaged tables or equipment will result in a fee.
GAS STOVE
Please make sure the range is off when you are done using the gas stove.
Double-check that all knobs are entirely off before leaving the stove area and leaving the home.
PETS
No pets shall be allowed on the Premises. Pet visitors are not permitted to visit the property for any reason. If a pet is discovered or without advance notice at a “Pet Not Allowed,” there will be a $400 Fee per pet. The pet must be removed, and your occupancy may be canceled with no refund given. Guest’s will be breaching rental contract and result in the termination of guest’s tenancy, loss of all payments made, and loss of Security Deposit.
Our primary focus is making sure our guests leave this home as happy as they can be. If there is anything we can do better for our next guests
